B.C. Ferry's vehicle-carrying high-speed ferries were assembled and launched from a new building designed and constructed by Sandwell. Sitting partly on land reclaimed from Vancouver harbor, the building is 135 m long by 41.6 m wide by 28.8 m high. Two overhead cranes, each with a 10 tonne main hoist plus two tonne auxiliary, can be linked to provide a 20 tonne lift.

Sandwell provided a feasibility study for this 59m x 245m six-pontoon drydock, including evaluation of alternative sites and recommendations on design and size. We also provided detailed design for a mooring pier and ancillary facilities, and field services during construction.
