Oct 2006: Sandwell takes its Engineering Services to a new level - Registers its Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems to international standards
Vancouver, Canada – Sandwell’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems have received registration by the Quality Management Institute (QMI) to the international occupational health and safety specification OHSAS 18001, and the environmental management standard ISO 14001.
“These certifications provide clients the confidence that Health, Safety, Environment and Community (HSEC) are key considerations in all Sandwell projects, large and small,” said Alan Pyatt, President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Sandwell International. “Our HSEC commitment ensures the health and safety of those around us, assisting in the protection, care and well being of the environment and makes a positive contribution to the communities in which Sandwell is active.”
The success of Sandwell’s ISO 9001 quality management system with clients has encouraged the company to become one of the first engineering services companies to register to all three international standards. The ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 management systems will allow Sustainable HSEC to be considered in every design, and on every construction site.
